Towards Docuvention
The Multiplicities of Documentary Practices in Practice as Research (PaR) Applied Theatre
Knowledge production is impossible without documentation. Reflecting on my practice in documentation throughout the PaR Applied Theatre project series ‘A Home on the Island,’ I foreground the necessity of docuvention.
Docuvention is a proposal for documentary practices that concurrently document and intervene in the knowledge production of PaR Applied Theatre.
I argue that through docuvention we are able to meet the practical and ethical demands of the grassroots community and the academia involved, and thereby responsibly produce knowledge.
